Wild Coast Publishing

When I first contacted Wild Coast Publishing, I sure did not expect an email from John Kimantas, editor at the Coast & Kayak magazine and the author himself of many, many books about kayaking on the BC coast, waiting for me in my inbox the next morning.

Wild Coast Publishing is essential for coastal exploration of the BC coastline, written and published here on the west coast! They publish map of British Colombian gems (waterproof mapsheets for the marine trails!) including Desolation Sound, Broken Island group, Gulf Islands, North Coast Trail, the Broughtons and Clayoquot Sound! They publish The Gear Guide, the Coast & Kayak magazine and the new Wild Coast magazine coming out this summer!

Additionally, they have publish two marine guidebooks, BC Coast Explorer Vol 1 and 2, which we will be using thanks to Wild Coast Publishing. Volume 1 covers the outer coast of Vancouver Island from Port Hardy down the outer coast of Vancouver Island to Barkley Sound and the Broken Group Islands, including Cape Scott, Kyuquot, Brooks Peninsula, Nootka Sound, Clayoquot Sound and the Broken Group Islands. Volume 2 continues on to the West Coast Trail and around the south part of Vancouver Island through Juan de Fuca Strait, Greater Victoria, the Saanich Islands, Gulf Islands, the Ballenas-Winchelsea Archipelago, Denman and Hornby Islands and  Comox Harbour. In two volumes, our route circumnavigating Vancouver Island is almost completely mapped out!

Thank you so much, Wild Coast Publishing!!
